After learning a bit about their new and exotic surroundings, the party is off to the races! (Literally!)
The RWU Inner Circle has decided to embrace the "mainstream" D&D universe and play through the infamous Tomb of Annihilation! A new group of freshly minted characters sets out on a quest to help find a cure for a sick friend. To do so they must travel to a beautiful and deadly land and navigate it's terrors with little to no idea what they are looking for!
In the SUPER-SIZED final episode of this adventure the Cthulhu-ists face not one, but TWO eldritch horrors before finding themselves stranded in a strange new place! Our Call of Cthulhu campaign WILL continue in future episodes, but WHICH of the crew, if any, will remain?
Picking up EXACTLY where the last episode left off the Cthulhu-ists drive out to a mysterious, abandoned church that may hold vital clues to Julian's plan. Once inside they find more than they bargained for, including some ominous references to a powerful cult that they have encountered before!
In this week's episode* the fight is on between the Cthulhu-ists and a supernatural assassin (formerly a very nice old lady)! As usual, things get worse before they get better as they prove if they have what it takes to survive!
*(This episode is edited from a much longer recording. As such it ends somewhat abruptly, but rest assured that it is at a logical point in the story AND next week's episode will pick up exactly where this one leaves off!)
After the customary re-cap Brian starts doing some real life math and comes up a few killers short. Olympia reaches out to one of these "missing" people and finds a new connection to Julian Casey! She arranges a meeting with this new contact only to arrive and realize too late that they have been duped!
While it has only been one week for us in the "real world" it has been one YEAR since our players* last gathered to complete this supernatural quest. As can be expected there is A LOT of catching up to do, but once that's done the adventure picks up EXACTLY where it left off with Kaz and Andrew about to use their expertise to research the life and times of Juilan Casey!
*(We accidentally used the wrong intro on this episode! Nikole Jones could not join us for this session as our psychic 'Liliana', BUT playing her place is veteran RWU member Quinn Beecroft as flamboyant occult librarian 'Franklin' and a new player, Cheryl Romine as Forest Ranger/Paranormal Researcher 'Fawn')
Adrian summons the team (now called The Cthulhu-ists) and together they move down the newly discovered tunnel. What they find in the dark may be a dire warning of what's to come!
First, we catch up with Liliana and Andrew at the police station where Liliana picks up some strange vibes when she examines their evidence. Afterward Olympia*, Kaz, and Adrian investigate the burned out hospital where their one solid lead was last seen! What is it with boilers and basements?
*(One of Olympia's character traits is to sing hymns to herself when under stress. This is a stressful bit of the adventure for her.)
After visiting the crime scene, The Cthulhu Crew starts tracking down the few leads they have. Liliana and Andrew go to review forensic evidence while Olympia, Kaz and Adrian try to find an old "acquaintance".
The Cthulhu Crew returns! After the bizarre happenings in New Mexico, (most of) the team is taking some time off. However, when they receive another call from the Honest Slate their leisure time is cut short and they are summoned to Boston, Mass. in pursuit of a killer!
File this episode under “better late than never”! Back on December 9th the RWU crew recorded their panel called 'FROST FIGHT!' during VA Comicon's ( www.vacomicon.com ) winter show. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control we had to delay releasing the episode until...NOW! So, although it's a little late remember, it's the thought that counts! Enjoy!
THIS is the final chapter of The Order's current adventure! Picking up exactly where last week's episode left off they begin by finding out WHO is "being a prick" at the bottom of the well! Have they finally located Virgil? Find out here!
After a bit of trouble The Order finally reaches the bottom of the hole and discovers a shocking secret!
(This is the first of a TWO PART episode edited from a much longer recording. As such it ends somewhat abruptly, but have no fear! Part II will continue next week from exactly where this leaves off!)
The party returns to Hobbston armed with new information then makes the always fateful decision to split up! Both groups run afoul of different dangers, only to end up in the same place!
The Order heads out of town on a fact finding mission and they end up getting some unsettling, new information about Hobbston!
The Order decides to broaden their search and split up to cover more ground. In town, Halbrek takes a bold course of action after getting some divine inspiration; while out at the Gnome encampment Maxwell reintroduces himself to Edemere Tonghandle III in hopes of smoothing things over.
Alik'r tries his best to learn what he can from the kidnapping victim, but his efforts are frustrated by Edemere Tonghandle!
The Order continues to search for clues to Virgil's whereabouts when Max almost gets caught up in a political incident!
We rejoin the Order of the Hammer moments after their mysterious arrival in Hobbston, but SOMETHING is missing... Perhaps a friendly local can answer their questions!
In the FINAL episode of the Barria Chronicles; the party is shocked and awed by the return of some recently departed characters with proof that the stakes in their fight are all too real!
It's RWU's 100th EPISODE! To celebrate, we saved the best for last with the conclusion of our Rando Commandos "experiment"! Will they escape the terrors of the labyrinth or will they be trapped forever within its walls? Stay awhile and listen! (The 'Rando' action WILL return in 2018!)
In the SECOND installment of RWU's THREE PART experiment our group of warriors venture ever further into the unknown!
The RWU crew go old-school in this THREE PART adventure! Throwing caution (and planning) to the wind Brian leads members of the 'Inner Circle' (playing as all new characters) on a COMPLETELY RANDOM dungeon crawl rolled directly from the 5th Edition Dungeon Masters' Guide!
The Chosen begin to explore their new environment, but when Lili and Perrin grow bored of doing research they resort to doing what they do best.
